Monmouth College senior wide receiver Nate Thornton (Peoria, Illinois) picked up two honors on Tuesday after a tremendous performance on the football field Saturday night. 

With a career-high 10 receptions for a career-high 212 yards, Thornton was named the Midwest Conference Offensive Performer of the Week on Tuesday and was also selected to the D3football.com Team of the Week . Thornton's 212 receiving yards rank second among all D3 players in Week 1 and that tally is the fifth-best in a game in Monmouth history. Thornton also scored a touchdown in the game and he became the second player in school history with two 200+ yard receiving games. 

The Scots are next in action at home on Saturday with a 1 p.m. kickoff against the University of Chicago in the MWC opener.
