The Monmouth College men's tennis team hosted St. Ambrose on Thursday for their home opener and lost 9-0. The Scots (0-2) will play twice on the road this Saturday.
In doubles,
Sawyer Day (Cupertino, California) and Nick Robertson (Covington, Georgia) played at No. 1 and lost 8-3.
Andrew Nickols (Janesville, Wisconsin) and
Spencer Corn (Kansas City, Missouri) lost 8-0 at No. 2. With only five players on the roster the Scots forfeited at No. 3 doubles.
In singles, Day lost 6-1, 6-1 at No. 1 while Robertson lost 6-0, 6-2 at No. 2. The next two matches were both 6-0, 6-0 before
Macaden Sepich (Mackinaw, Illinois) lost 6-1, 6-3 at No. 5. The Scots forfeited at No. 6 singles.
Monmouth travels to Decorah, Iowa on Saturday for a pair of matches. They will face Wisconsin-Stevens Point at Noon and Loras College at 3 p.m.
