The Monmouth College golf teams competed in the Highland Classic over the weekend as the men finished 10th and the women didn't record a team score. The two-day event was hosted by Augustana College at the par-72 Highland Springs Golf Course.
The Scots women's team had three golfers playing as individuals in the event.
Amanda Stevens (Mason City, Illinois) had the best finish with a tie for 44th. She shot a 99 on Friday and a 105 on Saturday.
Sarah Saddoris (Port Byron, Illinois) shot a 116 on Friday and a 107 Saturday to finish 48th with a 223. Freshman
Annalyn Lovell (Oneida, Illinois) finished 49th with a 130 on Friday and a 119 Saturday for a total of 249.
Augustana won the women's team event and had the individual winner at 145 total score. The women will be back in action Monday in the SLIAC Preview hosted by Illinois College at The Rail Golf Course in Springfield. They will also compete next week in the Fall Fighting Scots Invite Sept. 17-18 at Gibson Woods.
On the men's side, the Scots finished 10th as a team.
Ganon Greenman (Alpha, Illinois) led the way with a 20th place finish as he carded a 77 in both rounds for a 154 total.
Ryan Prusak (Oswego, Illinois) shot an 85 on Friday and a 75 on Saturday for a 160 and a tie for 38th.
Noah Shields (Rantoul, Illinois) tied for 44th with a score of 83-81-164. DJ Reading (Monmouth, Illinois) shot an 85 on Friday and an 87 on Saturday for a 172 as he finished 53rd.
Grant Foster (Galesburg, Illinois) finished 57th with an 89 and an 86 for a 185 total.
St. Ambrose won the men's event and had the individual winner at a 138 total score. The men will next be in action at the Fall Fighting Scots Invite Sept. 17-18 at Gibson Woods.
