Lacrosse Falls in Season Finale

The Monmouth College lacrosse team lost 21-10 at Cornell on Saturday. With the loss the Scots finish the season at 6-7 overall, 2-4 in Midwest Lacrosse Conference play.

Cornell scored the first five goals of the game to lead 5-0 at the 8:03 mark. Kain Donohoo (St. Charles, Illinois) got the Scots on the board with 3:07 to play in the quarter. The Rams got the last two goals of the quarter to lead 7-1 after one. 

Donohoo scored again early in the second quarter to cut the Cornell lead to 8-2. The Rams scored two more before halftime and took a 10-2 lead into halftime.

Cornell pushed the lead to 14-2 before Jeff Knapp (Nolensville, Tennessee) scored. Donohoo scored late in the third and Knapp added another in the fourth. Monmouth trailed 17-5 when Donohoo scored again and Jack White (Omaha, Nebraska) also scored. Donohoo tallied his sixth of the game and Liam Meyer (Cedarburg, Wisconsin) scored with 41 seconds left as the Scots lost 21-10. 

Donohoo finished with six goals while Knapp had two. Michael Casey (Chicago, Illinois) had two assists and Gordon Kiesgen (Spring Grove, Illinois) won 24 of 35 faceoffs while also leading the team with 15 ground balls.
