The Monmouth College men's golf team hosted the Fighting Scot Invite on Sunday and finished fourth as a team at Gibson Woods. Freshman
Ganon Greenman (Alpha, Illinois) finished in a tie for third individually while junior
Ryan Prusak (Oswego, Illinois) finished in a tie for fifth.
Greenman took high honors for the Scots with a 73, three shots behind the individual winner from Wisconsin Lutheran College. Prusak was one shot behind at 74 and all of the top 10 individual golfers shot between 70 and 75.
Noah Shields (Rantoul, Illinois) shot an 81 and finished in a tie for 18th.
Maxwell Cook (Dunlap, Illinois) shot an 83 while both
Ben Dobberstein (Oswego, Illinois) and
Jimmy Johnson (Andalusia, Illinois) carded 84's. Playing as individuals, D.J. Reading Jr. (Monmouth, Illinois) shot an 87 while
Grant Foster (Galesburg, Illinois) shot an 88.
Meanwhile the women's golfers competed in the two-day Sandburg Invite at Lake Bracken CC hosted by Carl Sandburg. Amanda Stevens (Mason City, Illinois) finished in eighth place with a two-round total of 183. She had a 90 on Saturday and a 93 on Sunday. Sarah Saddoris (Port Byron, Illinois) finished in 19th place with a 249.
The men's team will compete next on Friday at the Augustana Invitational at Highland Springs Golf Course while the women are off until April 30.
