The Monmouth College tennis team fell to Saint John's (MN) University 8-1 on Tuesday at the Lake Eva Tennis Center in Haines City, Florida. The Scots will next face Otterbein University on Thursday on the Spring Break trip.
Andrew Shie (Davenport, Iowa) won at No. 1 singles, defeating Peyton Fischer 2-6, 6-4, 10-8 for his second straight singles win.
Brendan Guenther (Pekin, Illinois) fell at No. 2 singles 6-3, 7-5 and
Sawyer Day (Cupertino, California) lost at No. 3 6-0, 6-3. The other singles matches all ended 6-0, 6-0.
In doubles, Shie and Guenther lost at No. 1 8-2 while the other two doubles matches ended 8-0.
