Lacrosse Drops First Game of Season

The Monmouth College men's lacrosse team suffered their first loss of the season, 15-6 at Concordia Wisconsin on Saturday. The Scots (2-1) got three goals in the fourth quarter but it wasn't enough to finish the comeback.

The Falcons scored the first two goals of the game before Kain Donohoo (St. Charles, Illinois) scored for the Scots. Down 4-1, Donohoo scored again to end the first period with Monmouth trailing by two. CUW led 9-2 at halftime and overall scored eight straight goals before Jeff Knapp (Nolensville, Tennessee) made it 12-3.

Knapp scored two more times in the fourth quarter and LH Bond (Fishers, Indiana) scored the final goal of the game. Monmouth won the fourth quarter 3-2 as they scored the final three goals of the contest. Michael Casey (Chicago, Illinois) had three assists for the Scots while the other three goals were unassisted. Teagan Simons (Littleton, Colorado) made a career-high 26 saves, one shy of the school record, and led Monmouth with seven ground balls.

The Scots will be home on Tuesday, March 8 with a Noon contest against Trine University.
