The Monmouth College men's basketball team lost at Grinnell College 127-75 on Saturday afternoon. The Scots (3-15, 2-8) will host Grinnell (12-6, 6-4) on Sunday at 1 p.m.

The Pioneers led early 8-2 and 11-4 before the Scots went on an 11-0 run. Kendall Brasfield (Chicago, Illinois) scored in the paint and Ganon Greenman (Alpha, Illinois) hit a jumper. Jordan Metcalf (Aledo, Illinois) completed a 3-point play to tie the game at 11 and Greenman scored to put the Scots on top. Greenman scored again on the next possession for a 15-11 lead before Grinnell got their system going and hit five 3-pointers in the next two minutes for a 26-16 lead.

The Scots got it back down to seven at 30-23 before Grinnell got rolling again. They made 16 3-pointers in the first half and led 66-39 at the break. Greenman led the Scots in the first half with a career-high 17 points while Metcalf netted 11 to go with seven rebounds and six assists. 

The Scots got a quick 5-0 run early in the second half but Grinnell answered with a 10-0 run and kept up their outside shooting. The Pioneers made 12 more 3-pointers in the second half to finish the game 28-for-54.

Metcalf scored nine in the second half to finish with 20 points while Greenman finished with 21. Brasfield had eight of his 12 points in the second half. Metcalf had 12 rebounds for a double-double and led the Scots with seven assists. The teams will meet in Monmouth on Sunday at 3 p.m.
