The Monmouth College men's basketball team fell at Ripon College 72-55 on Friday night. The win allowed Ripon to clinch at least a share of the MWC regular-season title while the Scots fall to 3-20, 2-13. 

The Scots scored first when Briar Greenman (Alpha, Illinois) hit a 3-pointer on the first possession. Ripon scored the next 10 and before the Scots got a layup from Ganon Greenman (Alpha, Illinois) and a 3-pointer from Yuvraj Sidhu (Coppell, Texas).

Monmouth got the lead down to 18-14 but Ripon went on a run to lead 39-18 with 4:35 to play in the half. The Red Hawks lead peaked at 28 before Breck Biedscheid (Washington, Illinois) scored to end the half with the Scots down 46-20. 

Monmouth started the second half on an 8-0 run with baskets from Kendall Brasfield (Chicago, Illinois), Jonathan Oradiegwu (Richmond, Texas), Ganon Greenman and Jordan Metcalf (Aledo, Illinois). Free throws from Oradiegwu cut the lead to 14 before Ripon went on an 8-0 run of their own. 

Monmouth got it back to 14 on a 3-pointer from Will Ewald (Lincoln, Illinois) with 2:36 to go. But that was as close as the Scots got with Ripon getting the last bucket for a 72-55 win. 

Metcalf was 6-for-11 from the floor and led the way with 13 points. Oradiegwu had 11 points while Sidhu finished with eight. Metcalf led the team with eight rebounds and Oradiegwu had three steals.

MONMOUTH MOMENTS: Metcalf needs four rebounds for 200 on the season…He had two blocks and is now fourth on Monmouth's single-season list with 43…Coach Skirvseth is 8-11 in his Monmouth career against Ripon, 3-6 on the road…The Scots finish the regular season at Lawrence with another makeup game at 1 p.m. on Sunday.
