The Monmouth College men's soccer team lost their final road game of the season, 3-1 at Cornell, on Tuesday. The Scots are now 3-11-2 overall and 1-6 in MWC action.
Cornell took the lead in the 12th minute and made it 2-0 in the 32nd minute. They maintained the 2-0 lead into the second half and added on with a goal in the 61st minute.
The Scots got on the board in the 69th minute when
Cameron Winters (Silvis, Illinois) scored an unassisted goal, his first of the season. Cornell outshot Monmouth 15-10 on the game but shots on goal were just 6-5 in favor of the Rams. Monmouth goalkeeper
Dennis Turdean (Chicago, Illinois) made three saves.
The Scots will finish the season at home on Saturday against Lawrence. The game beings at 1 p.m. and the Monmouth seniors will be honored in a pre-game ceremony.
