Box Score The Monmouth College men's soccer team lost 3-1 at Lake Forest in the Midwest Conference opener on Saturday. The Scots are now 2-6-2 overall, 0-1 in MWC play.
The Foresters took the lead just 12:14 into the game and made it 2-0 in the 36th minute. Monmouth did not have a shot on goal in the first half of the contest.

Reid Sondgeroth (Mapleton, Illinois) scored an unassisted goal The Scots pushed forward for the equalizer but the Foresters made it 3-1 with 13:25 to play. Neither team scored down the stretch and Lake Forest finished with nine shots on goal, to just one for the Scots.
Goalkeeper
Marcos Garibay (Waukegan, Illinois) made six saves in the loss. He is  now in sole possession of ninth place on the career games played list for a goalkeeper at 31. He is seventh in both goalkeeper starts (27) and minutes played (2,310).
The Scots are next in action at 4:30 p.m. at Knox on Wednesday. They will host Ripon College on Saturday with an 11 am kickoff at Peacock Park.Â
