After being rained out in the Chicago area last week, the Monmouth College men's golf team completed their first event of the fall season this weekend. The Scots competed alongside 19 other teams in the Midwest Region Classic in Galena, Illinois. The event, hosted by Benedictine, took place over two days at the Eagle Ridge Resort with both the North Course and the South Course in use.
The Scots finished 15th as a team.

Ryan Prusak (Oswego, Illinois) led the Scots with a two-round tally of 166, finishing tied for 60th. Senior
Ben Dobberstein (Oswego, Illinois) tied for 70th with a 177. Junior
Noah Shields (Rantoul, Illinois) and junior Max Cook (Dunlap, Illinois) tied for 77th with a 170. Freshman
DJ Reading Jr. (Monmouth, Illinois) shot a 177 and tied for 202nd while junior
Jakob Brokaw (Andalusia, Illinois) shot a 180 and tied for 107th.
Cook had Monmouth's best first round with an 85, one ahead of Prusak and Dobberstein. While Cook shot an 85 again in round two, Prusak went low with an 80 while Shields posted an 82 and Dobberstein an 83.
The Scots have this week off before heading to Elmhurst, Illinois for an event on Sept. 23.
