The Monmouth College volleyball team made history on Saturday, celebrating Homecoming weekend by clinching a spot in the Midwest Conference Tournament. The last time the Scots made the MWC Tournament was in 2012 and the earned a spot by sweeping Ripon 25-17, 25-15, 25-15.

The win moves the Scots to 5-3 in MWC action and they do not have any more regular season conference games scheduled. With Lake Forest picking up their third loss on Friday night and the Scots holding the head-to-head tiebreaker from an Oct. 2 win, the Scots have clinched.

The other three teams in the final four tournament will be Cornell, Grinnell and Illinois College, though the order is still up for grabs. Cornell and Grinnell are both 6-0 in conference and they match up on Wednesday with the winner clinching the top spot and the role as tournament host the first weekend of November.

Megan Kimble (Farmington, Illinois) had 11
. Karlie Drish (Milan, Illinois) handed out 33 assists and posted a double-double with 14 digs.
Kaylee Woodard (Monmouth, Illinois) led the Scots with 17 digs while Kimble had six blocks and
Paige Bergschneider (Alexander, Illinois) had two aces.
