The Scots took a quick 2-0 lead in Set 1, but the Stars roared back to tie the set at 3-3 and eventually pulled away for a 25-14 win. Monmouth stayed close in Set 2 and trailed 22-19 before the Stars held off the Scots' pressure. Dominican inched ahead late in the final set, a 25-18 win over the Scots.

The Scots next match will open the Midwest Conference season on Wednesday with a 7 p.m. contest at Cornell.
