With their season opener Friday cancelled due to severe weather in St. Louis, the Monmouth College men's soccer team opened their season at home Sunday, hosting the University of Dubuque.

The Scots put two-thirds of their shots on goal, but came up on the short end of a 2-0 score. The Spartans broke the ice in the 22
nd minute, but the Scots then held UD scoreless for the next 43 minutes. Dubuque added an insurance score in the 67
th minute and held the Scots at bay down the stretch.

Duh Thang placed both of his shots on goal for the Scots, only to be turned aside by the Dubuque goalkeeper.
