Monmouth split their home season finale with Illinois College, winning the opener 6-2 and falling in the nightcap 5-2, but remained atop the Midwest Conference with an 8-2 league mark.

The Scots stretched their win streak to eight games with a four-run fifth in Game 1. Tied at 2-2 in the fifth,
Laura Dulee delivered a bases loaded double down the leftfield line to drive in
Kaelan Bradley and
Jessica Pauley to put the Scots ahead.
Alexis Opel followed with a base hit to plate
Alison Trettin and Dulee came to roost on
Brittney Enos' fielder's choice.
Jenna Pauley, who came from the bullpen with a bases loaded jam in the top of the inning logged the win, working 2-1/3 innings and ending a bases loaded threat in the seventh.

Opel broke up a Lady Blues no-hit bid with a leadoff base hit in the fifth inning of Game 2 as the Scots trailed 4-0. Opel broke the shutout bid as well when
Angela Schaumburg delivered a two-out triple to score Opel from second base. Monmouth stranded the base loaded in the sixth and scored one in the seventh to pull within 5-2, but ended the inning stranding two. IC had opened the lead with a three-run fifth to earn the split and hand
Hailey Rennick the loss.

Monmouth hits the road for a nonconference game at Augustana Thursday before traveling to Lawrence on Saturday and Lake Forest Sunday.
