Monmouth erupted for five, third quarter goals to break open a 15-6 win over Fontbonne Thursday at April Zorn Memorial Stadium.
 
The Scots and Griffins traded goals in the first quarter before 
Croy Seagren and 
Kyle Hatfield scored back-to-back goals in the final eight minutes to open a two-goal lead. By halftime the Scots held a 7-4 edge, outshooting the Griffins 30-8. Monmouth quickly opened the lead in the third quarter behind three goals from Hatlfield and two by 
Shane Herkert for a 12-4 advantage. The Scots held Fontbonne scoreless in the third period, limiting the visitors to just three shots. Monmouth finished with a 59-16 advantage in shots while Hatfield and Seagren scored four goals each, leading seven different Scots with goals.
 
The win moved the Scots to 6-7, equaling last year's win total with three games to play. Monmouth hosts Northland College Saturday at 3 p.m.
