Monmouth stayed with Concordia Chicago for more than 45 minutes before a late Cougars' surge sank the Scots 17-8 Saturday afternoon in Chicago, Monmouth's final game of a six-game road trip.
 
Amanda Green netted three, first-half goals as Monmouth stood toe-to-toe and trailed just 7-5 at the half when Aspen Chadderdon scored with 2:02 left in the opening frame. The teams traded goals after the break until CUC scored back-to-back goals to open an 11-7 gap. The Scots netted their final goal at the 12:16 mark when Kara-Jade Gordon fed Mel Fairand for a score to cut the deficit to 11-8 before Concordia broke loose, scoring five times in the final five minutes.
 
The Scots return home to wrap up their season with a three-game home stand beginning April 19 with Beloit.
