Monmouth banged out 15 hits in an 8-2, 5-2 doubleheader sweep of Penn State-Behrend in Fort Pierce, Fla. Wednesday afternoon.

Trailing 4-0 in the bottom of the bottom of the fourth in the opener, Monmouth rallied with eight runs over the next three innings and held on for the win. After scratching out a lone run in the bottom of the fourth, the Scots plated three runs with two outs in the fifth.
Mike Dato's two-run double followed an RBI single by
Harry Sanchez as the Scots knotted the game at 4-4. The Lions got a run back in the sixth, but the Scots countered in their half of the inning taking advantage of a two-out error to score four runs, two on a Sanchez base hit.
Alex Sheetz worked the final inning-and-a-third to notch his first win this season.

The Scots led all the way in the late game, scoring three times in the seventh for added insurance.
Matt Temaner's no-out bases-loaded double cleared the base with his third hit of the game in the bottom of the sixth.
Matt Datlof logged the win, working four innings of one-hit ball while striking out five.

Sanchez finished the twinbill 4-for-8 with three RBIs while Temaner was 3-for-6 with three RBIs.

Monmouth meets Maritime and Hood Colleges Thursday in a split twinbill.
