Monmouth had balanced scoring, just not enough in a 13-6 loss Saturday afternoon at Wartburg.
 
With leading scorer Kara-Jade Gordon held to a single goal, Kaelin Sommer and Amanda Green took the scoring honors with two goals each. Trailing 4-0, Sommer and Green scored back-to-back goals in the first half to cut the margin to 4-2 with 4:21 left in the opening 30 minutes. Sommer's second goal again cut the deficit when the Scots fell behind 6-3 early in the second half, the senior netted an unassisted goal to pull Monmouth within 6-4. The Scots would get no closer as the Knights countered with three unanswered goals and iced the game with two insurance tallies in the final four minutes.
 
The Scots travel to Ausgburg Sunday for an 11 a.m. contest.
