Monmouth hung with the defending league champions for the first 20 minutes, but Hamline heated up to down the Scots 21-3 Sunday afternoon.

Amanda Green netted the first goal of the game to give the Scots a quick 1-0 lead in the first 90 second, but the Pipers answered with three straight goals over the next five minutes to build a 3-1 lead. Monmouth got one goal back when
Kaelin Sommer netted a score with 18:01 left in the first half, pulling the Scots within 3-2, but Monmouth would get no closer as Hamline went on a scoring flurry in the final 10 minutes of the half to lead 13-2 at the break.

The Scots begin a six-game road trip Wednesday with a 4 p.m. match at Augustana.
