Monmouth won all three-setters they played, but dropped the two-set matches in Saturday's 6-3 loss at Wartburg.

Andrew Shie opened his season with a three-set win at No. 2 singles. Shie dropped the first set 6-4, but came back with a convincing 6-0 win in Set 2 and dispatched his opponent in the third set tiebreaker 10-2.

The first two sets at No. 3 for
Zach Harris were complete opposites. Harris fell in the first set 6-2, but won the second 6-1. The third set tiebreaker went to the wire where Harris pulled out a 10-6 win.

Brendan Guenther got off to a slow start at No. 5, dropping the opening set 6-2 before pulling out a 7-5 win in the second set. Guenther outlasted Wartburg in the third set, winning 10-8.

Joseph Shie fell in two nail-biting sets at No. 1. The sophomore fell in the first 7-6 and in the second 7-5.
Alex Martin suffered a similar fate at No. 4 where he dropped the opening set 7-6 before succumbing in Set 2, 6-3.
Nicholas Robertson fell 6-0, 6-0 at No. 6.

Joseph Shie were able to win any games in doubles. The No. 1 tandem fell 8-3.
Andrew Shie and Guenther were felled 8-0 at No. 2, the same score at No. 3 with Martin and Robertson.
