Monmouth's win streak came to a close on a rainy Wednesday night when Illinois Tech upended the Scots 18-4 in the Midwest Women's Lacrosse Conference opener for both teams.

The Scots held the Scarlet Hawks down for much of the first 15 minutes and trailed just 3-0 before

McKenzie DeVilder for the Scots first score at the 12:17 mark to close the gap to 3-1. Illinois Tech countered and reeled off six unanswered goals to take a 9-1 halftime lead. After the Hawks netted the first goal of the second half, Gordon broke free on a three-goal outburst, but that would be the end of the Scots' scoring as they slipped to 2-1 on the season.
