Not quite at full strength just yet, the Fighting Scots fell in their final early season road trip before heading to Florida for their annual Spring Break games.
    Â
Elmhurst got off to a fast start, blanking the Scots in doubles by 8-0 scores in each pairing.
Nicholas Robertson, who joined the team this week after completing his swim season, teamed with
Jory Masterman at No. 3 for the Scots' first match at No. 3 doubles.
    Â
Joseph Shie nearly picked up the Scots' lone win, competing at No. 1 singles. Shie dropped the first set 7-6, but rallied back to take Set 2, 6-1. The final set went Elmhurst's way 10-4 as the Bluejays completed their sweep of singles.
    Â
Zach Harris fell at No. 2, 6-3, 6-1 while
Alex Martin was dispatched at No. 3, 6-1, 6-1. At No. 4,
Brendan Guenther dropped the first set 6-2 and was eliminated with a 6-0 second set loss. Robertson and Masterman were blanked in straight sets at Nos. 5 and 6 respectively.
    Â
The Scots expect to have their full roster when they're scheduled to meet St. John's University and Penn State-Berks on Mar. 5 and 8 in Orlando, Florida.
