Entering the MWC postseason with a program-record eight shutouts, the Scots couldn't blank the Prairie Fire who outshot the Scots 21-4, putting 13 on goal. Goalkeeper
Kieren Marshall turned aside 11 of the attempts, but fell behind when Knox scored in the 18
th minute. Monmouth's defense kept it a one-goal game until the Fire added an insurance goal in the 62
nd minute.
Monmouth ended their season 9-7-2 after making the postseason for the first time since 2001. Their nine wins ties for the second most wins in program history. The Scots graduate nine seniors from this season's record-setting team.
