Monmouth College's women's tennis team continued a pair of win streaks Wednesday evening. The Scots stretched their team win streak to four with a 6-3 win over rival Knox to stay in fifth place in the Midwest Conference while
Rachael Leifheit and
Alison Bowman continued to win at No. 2 doubles.

Leifheit and Bowman added to their program record win streak with their eighth straight victory. The tandem eased by their Prairie Fire counterparts 8-2 to lead the Scots to a sweep in doubles.
Emily Laughlin and
Isabel Hammond won by the same score at No. 3 while the No. 1 team of
Emma Johanns and
McKenzie DeVilder eked out an 8-7 win, taking the tiebreaker 9-7.

The Scots took the bottom three singles matches when Laughlin, Bowman and
Emily Henson won in straight sets at Nos. 4, 5 and 6, respectively. Henson had the closest match, taking the first set 7-5 before rolling to a 6-2 second set win. Laughlin and Bowman lost just three games in winning their matches.

Monmouth hosts Cornell and Grinnell Saturday in the final matches before the Midwest Conference Singles and Doubles Tournament in Madison, Wis., Oct. 19-20.
