Ashley Farris blasted 18 kills on Monmouth's second day of the Loras Volleyball Invitational, but it wasn't quite enough as the Scots dropped a pair of 3-1 decisions.
 
Farris, Ali Gustafson and Lauren Sperry threw down eight kills each in the morning's loss to Dominican.  The Scots evened the match with a 27-25 Set 2 win, but dropped the third set by the same score before the Stars pulled away for the win in Set 4.
 
The Scots came back from a 2-0 deficit in the last match of the day, taking a 25-22 third set win over Dubuque behind a 10-kill effort from Farris. The Spartans responded to edge the Scots 25-17 in the fourth set for the match win.
 
Monmouth returns home to host Eureka Tuesday night at 7 p.m.
