Monmouth staged a furious second half rally with a three-goal outburst, but the University of Dubuque answered each time to hold on and hang a 6-3 loss on the Scots.

The Spartans notched a pair of first half goals and took a 3-0 lead in the second half before Devin Cross put Monmouth on the board in the 56th minute with an assist from Jordyn Gosell. The teams traded goals until Dubuque scored back-to-back tallies to take a 6-2 lead with 19 minutes left. Jacie Reis found the game's last goal, coming on Gosell's second assist of the game, but the Scots' rally came up just short.

The Scots host Central in a 4 p.m. contest Wednesday before resuming conference play this weekend at home with St. Norbert and Beloit.
