Box Score 2 Monmouth climbed well over the .500 mark after posting a 3-1 weekend at the Knox Invitational Friday and Saturday.

The Scots rolled to a 3-0 win in the weekend opener Friday over Finlandia and outlasted Westminster 3-2 in the late game as
Lauren Sperry threw down a dozen kills and added eight total blocks.

Monmouth opened Saturday's play with a four-set win over Anderson University when
Riley Cook slammed a team-high 11 kills. The teams split the first two sets before the Scots rolled in the third set 25-14 and edged Anderson in the fourth set 25-23.

The final match of the day went the way of Lincoln College which downed the Scots 3-0 despite another 12 kills from Sperry. The junior ended the weekend with a team-high 45 kills. Cook added 33 with a team-best .484 kill percentage.

The Scots travel to the Lincoln Christian Tournament next weekend before opening Midwest Conference play on Sept. 26.
