Monmouth kept up their torrid shooting, placing half of their 12 shots on goals last night, but their best start since 2000 ended against perennial power Webster after the Gorlocks scored three second half goals to end the Scots winning streak 4-1.
Â
Trailing 1-0 as the second half began, the Scots got on the board in the first three minutes when
Katlyn Selvig fed leading scorer
Kara-Jade Gordon for Monmouth's only goal. Gordon's game-tying goal gave her five scores on the season, moving one ahead of
Jacie Reis. Webster responded with a three-goal flurry inside an eight minute span to take the lead for good.
Â
The Scots return home to face Concordia of Chicago Saturday afternoon at 1 p.m.
