Box Score Monmouth knew an uphill battle faced them when they met Aurora - winners of five straight Midwest Lacrosse Conference titles - on the Spartans home turf.

Aurora fired off 30 first half shots to open up a 12-0 halftime lead, eventually handing the Scots a 21-2 loss. In his first game back after an injury, goalkeeper Chase Cranford turned aside 16 shots. Croy Seagren and Tom Cangelosi netted Monmouth's goals, Cangelosi in the third quarter and Seagren in the opening minutes of the fourth.

The Scots conclude their second season at home Saturday, hosting Benedictine at 2 p.m.
