A day after clinching a Midwest Conference Team Championships berth, the Fighting Scots faced their first round opponent Sunday at Grinnell.
The Pioneers hung a 9-0 loss on the Scots in Sunday's regular season finale.

Joseph Shie gave Monmouth their best chance at a singles win, but fell 8-5 at No. 1.
Shie opened singles play at with a 6-0 first set win at No. 2, but dropped the second 6-4. The freshmen fell in the tiebreaker 10-3. Wong at No. 1 and
Zach Harris at No. 6 lost close first set matches, falling 7-6 and 7-6, respectivley. Wong fell in the second set 6-3 and Harris dropped a 6-1 decision.
Monmouth will meet the Pioneers again Friday in the first round of the MWC Team Championships.
