Box Score Thomas Van Alstine netted a hat trick in the first half as Monmouth rolled to a 7-2 road win at Northland College Monday afternoon.
 
Jeff Knapp assisted on Van Alstine's first goal and fed Braden Cross for another in the second half. Van Alstine netted the game's first goal with less than four minutes left in the opening quarter and added his second just before the period ended. Northland closed the gap to 3-1 as the third quarter opened, but Van Alstine scored his fourth goal in the final three minutes of the frame and assisted on Cross' first tally as the fourth quarter began. Monmouth's lead grew to 7-1 on goals by Joe Incorvati and Cross' final cage-finder.
 
Chase Cranford turned aside eight shots for his second win of the season. Van Alstine and Knapp led the Scots with seven ground balls each as Monmouth was successful on 35 of their 40 clear attempts. The Scots outshot their hosts 33-17.
 
Monmouth hits the road again next Wednesday with a trip to Fontbonne.
