Box Score Monmouth couldn't complete the rally after spotting Wartburg a 3-0 lead, falling to the Knights 16-6 at April Zorn Memorial Stadium.
 
Kara-Jade Gordon netted four goals for the Scots – one on with a man-down – as Monmouth rallied to stay close until the Knights' scoring binge in the final six minutes. Lexi Tibbs punched in two goals in the first half to keep Monmouth in range at 9-4 as the teams headed into the intermission. The Scots quickly cut the margin after the break when Gordon's goal cut the margin to 9-5 in the first two minutes of the second half. The sophomore's final scored at the 14:24 mark again made it a four-goal differential, this time at 10-6 before Wartburg pulled away with the final six goals of the game.
 
The Scots continue their four-game home stand next weekend, hosting Aurora Saturday at 1 p.m. and Benedictine Sunday at noon.
