Monmouth offense and defense worked in unison to post a 12-2 win at North Central University Saturday morning.
 
The Scots forced 30 turnovers and 
Chase Cranford stopped all but two shots as Monmouth got back on the winning track after a last-second loss Friday afternoon. 
Thomas Van Alstine netted the first goal and assisted on the second when 
Braden Cross scored his first of two goals to give Monmouth a quick 2-0 lead. 
Jeff Knapp added a pair of second period goals as Monmouth cruised to a 6-1 halftime lead. 
Mitch Perez got in on the multiple-goal game, scoring a pair in the third quarter as Monmouth opened up a 10-1 after three quarters.
 
Knapp finished with a game-high four goals and Van Alstine tallied seven points with three goals a four assists – two to Cross and two to Perez.
 
Monmouth continues their road trip with a Wednesday night contest at Dubuque.
