Box Score Jerry Ivie's late goal nearly sent the game into overtime, but the University of Northwestern ruined the chance, scoring the winning goal in the final second of the 9-8 affair.

Playing in Minnesota, the teams traded the lead throughout the entire game. The Scots jumped out to a 2-1 lead on back-to-back first quarter goals by
Thomas Van Alstine and
Mitch Perez, but the Eagles responded with a pair of goals midway through the second period. Trailing 8-7 in the final minute of regulation, the Scots called a timeout, setting up Ivie's tying goal with 54 seconds remaining. UNW then tallied the winning goal on a man-up opportunity with one second left.

The Scots – who outshot the Eagles 36-34 – remain in St. Paul for a 10 a.m. contest against North Central University.
