Box Score Monmouth held Beloit to just one goal in the first quarter before the Bucs found their range to hand the Scots' their first league loss.
 
Beloit scored four second quarter goals and four more in the third to take a 9-0 lead before the Scots found the cage. Thomas Van Alstine's goal at the 11:39 mark of the final frame kept the Scots from suffering their first shutout in program history. Beloit controlled the middle quarters while the Scots opened and finished strong in the first and fourth periods.
 
Chase Cranford tallied 18 saves for the Scots who slipped to 2-1 in the Midwest Lacrosse Conference and 4-2 overall.
 
Monmouth plays a pair of games in Minnesota this weekend, facing the University of Northwestern on Friday and North Central University on Saturday.
