Box Score Monmouth nearly matched Augustana goal-for-goal it the first half, but the Vikings' experience pulled away in the final 30 minutes to hand the Scots a 21-9 loss Wednesday night at April Zorn Memorial Stadium.
 
Kara-Jade Gordon notched four of her team-high goals in the first half, as her early back-to-back goals knotted the score at 3-3in the first 10 minutes. The Scots kept it close when Gordon followed a Lexi Tibbs' goal to pull within 6-5 late in the first half. Leading 8-7, the Vikings scored just before the first half ended to take a two-goal lead and then went on a second half run to put the game away.
 
Monmouth opens Midwest Women's Lacrosse Conference play next Wednesday with a match at Cornell.
