Dylan Wong and
Joseph Shie at No. 3 cruised to an 8-1 win while the No. 1 team of

Straight set wins were in play in singles as Walker, Griffin and Shie won their matches at Nos. 2, 3 and 6. Pliego at No. 4 and Day at No. 5 nearly gave the Scots two more singles wins, but fell in three sets. Pliego won his first set 6-4, but fell in two heartbreaking sets 7-6 and 7-5. Day opened strong with a 6-3 first set win, but dropped the next two 6-0, 6-1.
Griffin and Walker won their doubles match in the late contest with Illinois Tech. The pair rolled to an 8-4 win at No. 1. Monmouth nearly had a 2-1 lead coming out of doubles, but Pliego and Day were tripped up at No. 2, 8-6.
Pliego avenged the doubles loss in singles, posting a 6-2, 7-5 win at No. 3, Monmouth's only singles win in the match. Shie again went three sets, dropping the first set 7-5 before rallying back for a 6-2 win in Set 2. The Scarlet Hawks took the tiebreaker 10-7.
