WOMEN BLANKED AT LAKE FOREST, BUT STAY IN HUNT FOR MWC BERTH

Monmouth stayed three Midwest Conference playoff points behind the top four Saturday with a 3-0 loss at Lake Forest.
 
The Foresters, who outshot the Scots 16-8, got on the boards in the 31st minute but was nursing a 1-0 lead in the final minutes. Lake Forest put the game away with two goals in the final six minutes.
 
The Scots play at Lawrence Sunday at 1:30 and could put into a logjam in the top four in the MWC.
