Box Score Monmouth again put forth a solid defensive effort, but came up a goal short in a 1-0 loss at Webster Sunday afternoon.
 
The Scots outshot the Gorlocks 13-10 in the defensive-minded game, but Webster found a way to squeeze in the game's lone goal in the 30^th minute. Monmouth nearly tied the game at the half, but shots in the final six minutes of the opening period by Justin Seeley and Alvaro Alvarez were blocked.
 
After firing eight first-half shots, Monmouth took another five shots in the final 45 minutes, but none found the back of the net.
 
Monmouth travels to Principia College Saturday to end their opening three-game road trip.
