Box Score Until the final minute, it appeared as if Monmouth and Wabash would play an extra session, but a late goal ended nearly 90 minutes of scoreless soccer as the Little Giants clipped the Scots 1-0.
 
Chase Stroud turned in a five-save effort for Monmouth before Wabash scored on a breakaway with just 40 seconds left in regulation. The Scots had nearly taken the lead in the final minute, but both shots from inside the box sailed wide.
 
Monmouth controlled long stretches of the game, but was outshot 14-8 by Wabash.
 
The Scots travel to Eureka Wednesday night for their final nonconference game before opening  Midwest Conference play at home Saturday and Sunday.
