Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 | Box Score 3 | Box Score 4 Monmouth split Friday's action at the Knox Invitational, but came up just short in a pair of tight Saturday matches.

The Scots rolled past Rockford in Friday's opener 3-0 as Becca Dabrowski threw down 11 kills and Bridgett Rayhill and Lauren Sperry collected eight each. Dubuque clipped the Scots in the late game 3-0, holding Monmouth to jsut 19 kills.

Rayhill banged out 10 kills in Saturday's tight 3-1 loss to Macalester.Monmouth took Set 2 after a Set 1 loss before Macalester won the next two sets for the win. The last match of the weekend also turned out to be the closest. Alverno edged the Scots after taking a 29-27 Set 1 win. The teams traded sets with Monmouth hammering out a 25-14 Set 4 win before falling 15-13 in the fifth set as Sperry and Ashley Farris threw down 15 kills each and Dabrowski - who wsa named to the all-touranment team - added 13.

Monmouth travels to Mount Pleasant, Iowa, next Saturday to meet the Tigers and Greenville.
