Box Score Monmouth staged a dramatic third quarter rally, but ran out of gas in the final period, dropping a 12-6 decision to Concordia (Wis.).

Trailing 6-2 at halftime, the Scots scored the first three goals of the third quarter to pull within one at 7-6. Thomas Van Alstine netted three of his team-high four goals in the frame as Chase Cranford got the ball rolling with a man-advantage goal in the first minute.

The Falcons countered in the fourth quarter, scoring three times in the first five minutes and keeping the Scots out of the net to pull away for the win at April Zorn Memorial Stadium.

Goalkeeper Jason Kunath turned in a 14 save effort as CUW fired off 48 shots.

Monmouth travels to Beloit next Saturday for a 1 p.m. contest.
