Croy Seagren scored the game's first two goals as the Fighting Scots jumped out to a 4-0 lead, scoring one short-handed goal before the Student Princes knotted the game just minutes into the second quarter. Monmouth answered quickly on the first of two
Joe Incorvati goals as the Scots never trailed in regulation.

Trailing 10-9 in the final two minutes, the Student Princes rallied to knot the game at 10-10 with 1:27 remaining, eventually sending the game into overtime.

After a scoreless first extra session, Heidelberg slipped in the winning goal at the 3:18 mark of the second OT for the road win.

Monmouth will be on the road at North Central Sunday for a noon start in Naperville.
