Box Score Monmouth's defense clamped down in the second half of Sunday's 14-2 loss to Concordia (Wis.) allowing just three second half scores and limiting the Falcons to just eight shots over the final 30 minutes.
Â
Offensively, Monmouth put 12 of their 14 shots on goal, but couldn't offset CUW's 30-shot day. The Falcons struck early, netting a goal in the first minute but Monmouth's
Kara-Jade Gordon had an immediate answer, finding the back of the net a minute after the Falcons' first score. Concordia then went on a 10-goal outburst to pull away late in the first half.
Â
Ashley Castellanos broke the Scots' scoring drought, netting an unassisted goal with 3:53 left in the opening 30 minutes.
Â
The Scots travel to Concordia of Chicago next Saturday for a 1 p.m. contest.
