SCOTS DOMINATE DRAW CONTROLS VS. SPARTANS

Box Score The Scots won the draw control battle, but lost the game in an 18-4 loss at Aurora Saturday afternoon.

Aurora blanked the Monmouth over the first 30 minutes, but the Scots came back with four scores in the first 10 minutes of the second half. With the Scots taking a 9-4 draw control advantage in the second half, the offense came alive as Kara-Jade Gordon notched another hat trick, scoring two goals in the first minute of the second half. Ashley Castellanos' goal seven minutes later kept the Monmouth rally going and Gordon then scored three minutes later to draw Monmouth within nine at 13-4. The Spartans' defense tightened, keeping the Scots out of the cage for the final 20 minutes.

Elizabeth Reasoner spent the full 60 minutes in goal, collecting a game-high 10 saves.

Monmouth continues their road trip Sunday with a 1 p.m. contest at conference co-leader Benedictine.
