Box Score Croy Seagren took the team scoring lead and goalkeeper Jason Kunath made 19 stops, but the stellar efforts came up just short in Sunday's 11-3 loss at North Central.

Kunath stopped 11 first-half shots and another eight after the intermission to save 63 percent of the Cardinals shots. Seagren scored his eighth and ninth goals in six games to keep the Scots close in the first two quarters.

Seagren's goal at the 4:45 mark of the first quarter broke the ice after North Central had jumped out to a 4-0 lead. He netted his second goal just a minute into the second quarter following a late first quarter tally, once again pulling Monmouth within three at 5-2.

North Central's defense then stiffened, keeping the Scots out of the cage until Thomas Van Alstine's man-up goal with 5:14 left in the game finished Monmouth's scoring.

The Scots return home to host the University of Northwestern (Minn.) Friday night at 7 p.m. at April Zorn Memorial Stadium.
