Box Score Monmouth hit over 60 percent of their shots in the first half at Cornell before falling 80-46 to the league leaders.

The Scots stayed within two buckets for most of the first two quarters, taking an early lead before the Rams jumped ahead by five late in the first quarter. A layup from Keri Dodson and a jumper by Demi Johnson pulled Monmouth within one at 11-10 with less than a minute to play in the opening frame.

Cornell began to pull away in the second 10 minutes, but the Scots went 5-of-8 from the field to come back from nine down to a 27-22 margin on Dodson's inside bucket with 2:59 left in the half.

Maddie Dohleman's jumper early in the third quarter trimmed Monmouth's deficit to just three at 32-29 before the Rams went on a 14-2 run over the next three minutes to pull away.

Johnson hit 5-of-9 from the floor to share team-high honors with Dodson of 12 points each.

Monmouth travels to Lawrence Saturday for a 1 p.m. contest.
