The Scots stayed within two buckets for most of the first two quarters, taking an early lead before the Rams jumped ahead by five late in the first quarter. A layup from

Demi Johnson pulled Monmouth within one at 11-10 with less than a minute to play in the opening frame.
Cornell began to pull away in the second 10 minutes, but the Scots went 5-of-8 from the field to come back from nine down to a 27-22 margin on Dodson's inside bucket with 2:59 left in the half.
Maddie Dohleman's jumper early in the third quarter trimmed Monmouth's deficit to just three at 32-29 before the Rams went on a 14-2 run over the next three minutes to pull away.
Johnson hit 5-of-9 from the floor to share team-high honors with Dodson of 12 points each.
Monmouth travels to Lawrence Saturday for a 1 p.m. contest.
