Box Score Monmouth used a 9-0 run late in the fourth quarter to break open a close game for a 61-53 win over Millikin Sunday afternoon at Glennie Gym.

Becca Gallis came off the bench to pump in a game-high 20 points for the Scots, and it was her bucket in the lane with 4:50 left in the contest that began three straight buckets inside when Carley Turnbull and Maddie Dohleman followed suit. A Keri Dodson 3-pointer on her way to a 10-point day followed the trio of inside buckets to give the Scots their largest lead of the game with 3:00 left at 59-50.

The game which saw seven ties and 11 lead changes was in stark contrast from 24 hours earlier when the Scots suffered a shooting drought. Monmouth went 8-of-12 in the fourth quarter and shot 45 percent (24-of-53) for the game which included a 6-for-17 performance from 3-point range. Monmouth came back from a 31-27 halftime deficit to improve to 5-6 on the season.

The Scots resume Midwest Conference play Wednesday with a trip to Lake Forest.
